FEDERATION FLOURISHES


The Scottish Eightball Pool Federation goes from strength to strength with a record amount of entries for the Scottish Open, the creation of a new region and both a team and an individual semi final finish in the EEPF European Championships.


The SEPF has broken into the blackball dominated Western area with the creation of SEPF Region 5 (Scotland West & Islands).


TEAM SCOTLAND 2011 European Final


In a classic encounter, Phil Craig Snr rolled the clock back 20 years to gain a 7-5 win over Corcoranwhilst Fleming cruised past Kev Coutts. The tie of the round saw Clark raise his game to overcome Ellon based Daniel 7-5.


In the semis, Fleming squared up to Phil Craig Snr who was playing his best pool for years. Fleming held his cool towin the match 8-5.


In a repeat of last year's final Clark defeated McCarron, 8-6. Both produced a high standard but itwas Clark's surgical precision whilst under pressure that swung the balance. And he continued to show his best form


Headed up, initially by the Oban and District Pool League, they hope to begin their six event tour series in the summerwith the top ranked player at the end of the


season gaining automatic entry to the Scotland Squad for 2012.


In Malta, the Under 21 Team reached the European Championships semi-finals and were unlucky to lose to the hosts who they defeated twice in the group stage.


The team, which features IPA Tour players, Marc and Ryan Fleming are now setting their sights on Blackpool this summer with the aim of returning home asWorld Champions.


Gary Simpson, Scotland's only representative in the wheelchair event, also reached the semi finals in Malta before losing to Theresa Sheridan.
