Abby Arceneaux Assistant Coach


First Season Union College ’06


Abby Arceneaux begins her first season as the program’s first full-time pitching coach.


Arceneaux coached at her alma mater, Union College, this past season, after serving on the Cornell staff in 2009.


Arceneaux received her degree in psychology from Union in 2006 where she played softball all four years, while receiving multiple-league, ECAC and NCAA honors. She attained All-America status at the Division III level after ranking nationally in both pitching in hitting. Arceneaux was First Team All-Liberty League all four years and was named Player of the Year in 2004. She led the Dutchwomen to the NCAA tournament every season and was named to the NCAA All-Tournament team. A team captain her junior and senior seasons, she finished her senior campaign as the NCAA Division III toughest player to strikeout with no strikeouts in over 125 at bats. Her 65 hits that spring remain a Union record for hits in a season.


Arceneaux ended her career as the all-time Union career leader in wins (57), innings pitched (460), and strike- outs (463). She is third in hits (186), fifth in batting average (.411) and ninth in doubles (23).


She graduated from nearby Mechanicville High School where she led the Red Raiders to three New York State championships and was a two-time New York State Class “C” Player of the Year. Arceneaux has also been a pitching and hitting instructor at Warning Track Academy in Malta, N.Y. and at All-Stars Academy in Troy, N.Y.


Stacy Simpson Assistant Coach


Sixth Season American International ’00


Stacy Simpson begins her sixth season on the Siena staff. A 1996 graduate of nearby Shenendehowa High School, Simpson brings a great knowl- edge of Capital Region softball circuits to the Saints’ program.


Simpson obtained her bachelor’s degree from American International College in 2000, where she was named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Second Team as an outfielder.


She has also had playing experience in the Empire State Games as well as with the Adirondack Ice, Adirondack Magic and CD Lightning.


In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Simpson also serves as an administrative assistant at the Golub Corporation and a hitting instructor with Hayner Brothers.
