APP REVIEW
APP NAME : BEATMAKER 2 DEVELOPER : INTUA FORMAT : PRICE :
IPHONE/IPAD/IPOD TOUCH £11.99
USERS OF THE ORIGINAL BEATMAKER, or indeed any other mobile DAW software, are in for a treat. Intua have surveyed the market of existing audio software on iOS and come up trumps once again. Beatmaker 2 is slick, user friendly and intuitive plus lots of fun. Pretty much every instrument, setting and parameter is fully editable – including the wave forms of the samples included within the instrument presets. There is a slight downside; that when selecting a preset from the menu you can’t audition before loading it on to a track. Only a small thing we know, but it would be useful. The fact you can create your own presets trumps this oversight. Check out the tutorials at
www.intua.net to see the app’s
capabilities – import direct from iPod library? Yes please. There are key points to Beatmaker 2 that set it apart as a professional tool for serious mobile production. Unlimited tracks, 1800 samples in total, full record and edit modes, global FX bus channels and export to WAV and MIDI mean the only limitation is your imagination.
VERDICT 9/10
