INSTALLATIONS Bally scores with Systems’ successes B
ally has completed a new systems contract with Wisconsin’s Isle Vista Casino that replaces 100 per cent of a competitor’s systems technology. The installation went live in Spring 2011 at
the casino, which is owned and operated by the Red Cliff Band of Chippewa Indians and located three miles north of Bayfield, Wisconsin on the Red Cliff reservation. The comprehensive solution that Bally is providing comprises an array of technology- leading and award-winning Bally systems products. “Our new partnership with Bally Technologies will deliver a state-of-the-art system overhaul that will produce greater functionality, enhance and provide new customer-focused options, and produce a level of casino data that we have not seen in our history,” said Jeff Gordon, General Manager for Isle Vista Casino. “This installation takes us far beyond a win-win scenario.” According to Gordon, he and his team chose
Bally Technologies because of the Bally system’s current and future expandability, particularly with the manufacturer’s other bonusing and promotional products such as Power Winners, CoolSign enterprise-wide media management, and Bally TV. Bally’s system solutions will go live with 212 slots and eight tables, and later increase to 300 slots when the property’s owner and operator, the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, opens and moves all gaming operations to its larger and newly constructed Legendary Waters Resort and Casino later in 2011.
Bally has also notched a significant success with the Oneida Indian Nation’s Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York to provide its ACSC CMS to manage a number of key casino functions. Bally’s system, which replaces another company’s
system, will seamlessly integrate with a proprietary slot system developed by the Oneida Indian Nation to manage player tracking and analysis; table-game management; cage and credit accounting; player’s club enrollment and redemptions; hotel/resort integration; and a variety of marketing promotions. Implementation is slated for spring 2011. “After a thorough evaluation process, we found
Bally’s CMS product most closely matched all of our specific needs,” said Dan Garrow, Chief Information Officer of Oneida Nation Enterprises “In addition, Bally’s demonstrated expertise in converting from our current product to CMS is well documented and referenced. We look forward to working with their professional and responsive support organization on this important effort.”
Meanwhile, in Aruba, Bally completed a deal to
provide the Palm Beach Casino in Palm Beach, Aruba with a suite of Bally Systems solutions – and

completed the fastest go-live in Bally’s company history, with just 21 days from contract to opening. This agreement further cements Bally’s dominance of the systems market in the Caribbean, where the Company has 82 per cent market share in Puerto Rico, more than 83 per cent of the Aruba market, and 100 per cent of the casinos in the Bahamas and the US Virgin Islands. The Palm Beach Casino, formerly the Casablanca
Casino, located in The Westin Resort & Casino, selected Bally’s SDS Windows 11 slot-floor monitoring system; CMPª 11 casino accounting, player-tracking, and marketing solutions; and the Bally Power Bonusing suite for the re-opening of the casino following a $1.5 million renovation. Bally’s SDS Windows provides customers with a competitive and scalable slot management system utilizing a modern scalable architecture. The SDS Windows solution delivers flexibility, easy maintainability, and horizontal and vertical scalability for any size of casino operation. Bally completed the installation and go-live of its
system solutions in a record 21 days after the contract was signed. “We were thoroughly impressed not only by the Bally team’s professionalism and the level of innovation in SDS Windows and CMP, but by the speed in which they were able to help us identify our requirements, create a plan for implementation, and take the entire system, including games and all equipment, live in such a short amount of time,” said Robin Powell, Principal of Las Vegas-based Talisman Group, the casino project consultant for the Palm Beach Casino at The Westin Resort & Casino in Aruba. “It’s rewarding to partner with a customer like
Palm Beach Casino who works with us so proactively to ensure a very timely, thorough, and smooth system installation,” said Sridhar Laveti, Vice President of Client Services for Bally Technologies, Inc. “And we are thrilled to add Palm Beach Casino to our customer family in Aruba, where Bally provides the system for 10 of the island’s 12 casinos.” “We appreciate the strong partnerships we have with gaming operators in the Caribbean Islands, where we offer a suite of solutions that work for both the largest casino resorts and the smaller, more locally focused gaming venues,” said Tom Reilly, Bally Technologies’ Vice President of North America System Sales – Eastern Region. “The Caribbean is evolving and becoming a much more competitive gaming jurisdiction, with savvy and sophisticated casino operators who understand the importance of having a powerful system that not only does the traditional slot management, player tracking, and accounting, but can offer the most cutting-edge marketing, communications, and promotions tools to drive incremental revenue.”
Chukchansi Gold installs 12 Bad Beat Blackjack
C
hukchansi Gold Resort & Casino has installed 12 new tables of Bad Beat Blackjack
Progressive featuring DEQ’s award winning G3 bonusing system. Bad Beat Blackjack Progressive paid out $886,000 in 2010 and is an optional electronic side wager for blackjack. The side bet pays if the player gets a 20 and is beaten by a dealer 21. The more cards the dealer draws to beat the player’s hands, the higher the payout. A Seven Card Dealer 21 pays the progressive jackpot, and the G3 incorporates multiple credit betting, dealer hand betting and mystery bonusing.
“We have been using the G3 for
quite a few months now and we are very impressed with the results,” said Giffen Tan, Director of Table Games at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino. “The success of the two month trial of 11 Bad Beat Blackjack Progressive games at Barona Resort and Casino in California just made it more obvious that we could not pass on this opportunity. Bad Beat Blackjack is the first progressive side bet available on the market, and we are very excited to offer this product to our clients for their enjoyment and our mutual benefit.”
“Chukchansi Casino has always been a leading edge casino in its market and we are very pleased they have decided to offer their customers our newest progressive table game,” declared Earle G. Hall, President & CEO of DEQ. “The Bad Beat Blackjack side bet along with the G3 technology is the only blackjack side bet on the market that offers players more ways to win and we are confident that it will have as much success as our similar products such as EZ Baccarat and EZ Pai Gow.”
