GRADUATES 4 INTERNATIONAL GROWTH KICKS OFF


Graduates4InternationalGrowth (G4IG) got under way in February. Developed and delivered by Enterprise Ireland in partner- ship with UCD Smurfit School, it sees the placement of 50 top-level graduates in export-led firms with markets across the globe. The programme is aimed at devel- oping firms' export market development strategies and at the same time advancing graduates' international business skills. “This initiative is aimed at growing


exports by strategically aligning graduate talent, market opportunity and companies' international business plans,” said Frank Ryan, chief executive of Enterprise Ireland. “It is a unique opportunity for companies to acquire a valuable market development resource and to drive their export sales strategies.” The graduates are now beginning their


initial six-month intensive training and skills development programme and in- company induction, followed by a 12- month placement in a relevant overseas market. Modules cover a range of critical export marketing functions, including value proposition development, competi- tive intelligence, routes to international sales and implementing the international

SCHOOL GETS FULL RENEWAL OF EQUIS ACCREDITATION

UCD QUINN SCHOOL LAUNCHES INNOVATIVE NEW BCOMM


UCD Quinn School of Business has launched an innovative new BComm curriculum. To be implemented in September 2011, it aims to cultivate stu- dents’ analytical and problem- solving abilities, in order to develop graduates who are intel- lectually skilled, internationally savvy and informed critical thinkers, all skills that indige- nous and multinational employ- ers are seeking. The curriculum was developed following consultation with a
