University meets spring enrollment targets
“We have met our enrollment target for spring 2011. We increased the number of transfer students by nine percent and new first time freshmen by eight percent. The CSU-Dayton campus showed a spring enrollment increase of 21%,” says, Phyllis Jeffers-Coly, Dean of Enrollment Services at Central State University.
The CSU-Dayton campus increase is attributed to recently added day classes. Students have always been able to take evening and weekend classes, but beginning with the 2011 spring semester, daytime classes are now
offered. CSU-Dayton programs offered include: early childhood education, business management, criminal justice, social work, and education. Courses taken from the main campus and CSU-Dayton can be used toward obtaining a degree.
In addition, the spring showing is attributed to ongoing recruitment
efforts as well as a robust and aggressive Handle Your Business campaign (HYB). The HYB campaign fosters early registration through a variety of vehicles, including providing advising and scheduling assistance in the residence halls and promoting a number of registration incentives.
In anticipation of a robust fall enrollment, this spring the University will host an
event to honor and recognize students that have been offered admission. On
Saturday, April 16, students who have been admitted to the University will be invited to campus so they can make Central State University their choice for fall 2011.
We continue to invite students and their families to visit the campus as they
make decisions about college. Come and see our beautiful campus this spring — visit
