Central State chosen to participate in national initiative Preparing Critical Faculty For the Future (PCFF)

Central State University will join with 12 other Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in the National Science Foundation (NSF) supported initiative – Preparing Criti- cal Faculty For the Future (PCFF).

The goals of the project are to provide professional and leadership develop- ment for women of color faculty in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines, or NSF natural and behavioral science disciplines and to improve undergrad- uate STEM education at HBCUs.

The National Science Foundation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities-Undergraduate Program (HBCU-UP) funded the project. The thirteen institutions selected represent many different types—including two- year and four-year, public and private institutions.

The Center for Allaying Health Dis- parities through Research and Educa- tion (CADRE) Project is a collabora- tive multidisciplinary $4.2 million project. The project is funded by the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, of the Nation- al Institutes of Health. The project is designed to increase Central State University’s research capacity to help eliminate minority health disparities in the United States.
