NEWDIPLOMAS BOOST SALES OFMETALCRAFT’S HANDS-ON COLDMETALWORKING KITS

NatioNalDiplomaS in Engineering andmanufacturing and product Design have boosted sales ofmetalcraft’s cold metalworking kits to education. BarryWood of Metalcraft told

Technology in Education: “We have been delighted not only with the sales but the level of interest from schools and colleges who can spot the relevance of Metalcraft not only to design and technology, but especially those who are now offering the National Diplomas in Engineering and

Manufacturing/ Product Design. “Over the past 12 months we

have been invited to two events being organised by such schools/ colleges where they have held an open day for other schools in the area. “One of these was at Ormesby

College, Middlesbrough, and the other at Kingsbridge Community College in Devon. Both were a great success. In addition, we attended a special day at Queen Mary’s Grammar School,Walsall, which promoted and introduced

students to engineering.” At the eleventh hour

Metalcraft took a stand at MACH 2010 at NEC in the Education and Training Zone where there was a lot of interest inMetalcraft and particularly in the new top range of XL tools which were originally seen as more for the commercial/ industrial sector. Metalcraft have just launched

their new catalogue (Version 4), an 80 page full-colour publication, which they describe as devoted to ‘the essential range of equipment for crafting metal’. Barry commented: “Our starter

packs, ie. packs of instructions, steel, rivets, nuts, bolts and accessories to make three specific projects have been very successful. We have sold hundreds to education. “So in our new catalogue we

have introduced individual design packs to make nine different projects. We even advise people on the cost of making these items on a repetitive basis for the manufacturing diplomas, mini
