icro-Epsilon has launched a new product range called mainSENSOR (Magneto-


inductive). The standard MDS-40 M30 industrial version has a 40mm measuring range and an M30 cylindrical stainless steel housing. The OEM alternative,


the MDS-40MK, has a miniature square plastic housing and also provides a 40mm measuring range. Other advantages of these sensors are their very compact design relative to the measuring range, as well as extremely attractive price- performance ratios.


Over many years, Micro-Epsilon has been a specialist supplier of eddy current displacement sensors. The new sensors offer a combination of high speed and high resolution measurements. The sensors also benefit from extremely high basic sensitivity and temperature stability. A small permanent magnet on the measurement object is used as the target. The signal output provides 4–20mA or 2–10VDC. In contrast to the widely used Hall Effect principle, the MDS is based on a unique method patented by Micro-Epsilon, which is based on a linear relationship between the position of the magnet and output signal. Therefore, the MDS range of sensors provide an interesting alternative to conventional displacement sensors for OEM applications, especially in the automotive industry. l

he power entry module series DC11, DC12, DC21, DC22, DD11, DD12, DD21, DD22, KM and KMF from SCHURTER, is compact and robustly designed. The performance makes them suitable for nearly any application using is equipped with multiple functions including IEC appliance inlet C14 and switch, specifically with or without fuseholder. These lines are available either with or without EMC line filter.


The design makes the series suitable for the use in equipment with limited space and more demanding electrical and mechanical requirements.


Areas of applications include IT and telecom, particularly one rack unit (1RU) enclosures, as well as medical, office and automation. The series is ENEC and cURus approved and comply with IEC/EN standards 60950 and 60601-1. Technical features include: appliance inlet C14 according to IEC 60320; fuseholder 1- or 2-pole for 5x20 fuses (except DC11 and DC12); switch non- illuminated or illuminated, 1- or 2-pole, max. inrush current 100A capacitive for 34ms; current rating: up to 10A, cURus up to 15A; filtered versions (DC12, DD12, DD22 and KMF) available as standard or medical version; panel mount versions (DC11, DC12, DD11, DD12, KM, KMF) available for snap or screw mounting. l

accelerometer with very wide mounting flexibility, which is designed for accurate measurement frequency events from 0.5 up to 5000Hz. Available in three different ranges for 5, 10 and 50 ‘g’ acceleration measurements, the Kistler Type 8688A(x) incorporates a bimorph piezoceramic sensing element with internal Piezotron charge converter for matching most current front-end systems with constant-current line-drive capability. Patented methods are used to thermally compensate the sensing element. Kistler Type 8688A(x) sensors are also available with Teds IEEE1451.4 capability to simplify integration and maintenance. l
