Gentec Electro-Optics has launched its Maestro laser power and energy monitor, the company’s fi rst device to feature full touch-screen controls. Based on a 5.6-inch colour LCD screen, the device is designed for ease of use and accessibility. The Maestro allows data transfer and storage directly from the device using a USB key, while also offering Ethernet, RS-232, analogue output, external trigger and a USB com port for sending serial commands via a PC.

Gentec EO has also

introduced its Mach-5 model energy meter, which it claims is the fastest energy meter available operating at 130kHz. The device was developed to meet the real- time monitoring demands of several of

customers using pulsed DPSS lasers in the 30-50kHz range. The meter features high speed pyroelectric probes that can be used to measure energy at more than 100,000Hz, and fast digital electronics capable of capturing and storing every pulse.

As well as operating at up to 130kHz, the Mach-5 can capture and store up to four million pulses (40 seconds of data at 100kHz). The device can measure energy, frequency, average power and pulse jitter, displaying the data in a strip chart, histogram or statistics window. www.gentec-eo.com
