Step-by-step guide Dress for Success

With camaraderie being such an important component of the USBC Open and Women’s Championships experiences, what better way to show your team spirit then by dressing alike?

Each year, more tournament bowlers participate in the Pride Award program, which recognizes teams that dress alike (no jeans) by issuing them a special lapel pin. While teams are encouraged to participate in the Pride Award program, it is not required.

However, we would like to remind all bowlers, especially new ones, that the tournaments have a dress code.

Both tournaments

• All clothing must be neat, clean and in good condition. • Participants are not allowed to wear shirts with offensive language or pictures.

• Bowlers are not permitted to wear hats (except for medical reasons), sweats, or zubaz (pants with elastic cuffs).

Open Championships

• Male and female participants must wear shirts with a butterfly-type collar and casual slacks, trousers or jeans. (Women may wear Capri pants provided the length is below the knees).

• Mock-collared or collarless dress shirts are permitted, preferably worn with casual slacks or trousers. Ordinary T-shirts, shorts, skirts, skorts, culottes will not be permitted.

Women’s Championships

• Participants may not wear tank tops, halter tops, bare midriffs/tube tops, workout attire (example: spandex or sweats), spaghetti-strap tops, short shorts or skirts (if a bowler’s fingers are below the hemline, the item is not suitable) or bib overalls.

If you have any questions concerning the dress code, please contact the manager on duty, who will make all decisions related to appropriate attire. To purchase official apparel, please visit www.usbcsportstore.com.
