SPO is the leading international trade event for the sporting goods industry. Every year around 2,000 international exhibitors attend this global trade show in Munich to present their latest products and innovations to more than 60,000 trade visitors from 100-plus countries.


For over 40 years ISPO has provided a comprehensive preview of the complete selection of sporting goods, athletic footwear and style,as well as highlighting the latest trends in all segments.


This year’s Outdoor coverage is spread over three halls, with a number of international brands showcasing themselves to the assembled crowd. There are also halls dedicated to Performance, Sports Style, Ski, Board and Sports Source Europe. ISPO also includes a number of awards presented to brands from across the show. These include: the ISPO BrandNew Award, which is viewed as a barometer of future trends; ISPO Outdoor Award, presented for the most innovative and functional products in the outdoor sector; ISPO European Ski Award, honouring the best product innovations in hardgoods, softgoods and accessories from the ski sector for the next winter season; ISPO Boardsports Award, which highlights the most innovative products from the boardriding industry; ISPO Eco Responsibility Award, showcasing companies and products dedicated to the issue of sustainability; and ISPO European Fashion Award, which has been presented annually since 2005 by the German Fashion Industry Foundation and endorses promising new designers.

Getting there from the airport Taxis


Taking one of Munich's 3,500 taxis is a convenient way to travel from the airport to the New Munich Trade Fair Centre and back. The one-way trip takes approximately 35 minutes, depending on traffic. Munich International Trade Fairs and the Munich taxi owners' association have agreed to a fixed rate of €51 regardless of the time of year. This offer applies only to the most direct route between the airport and the trade fair in km.


Public transport


Ispocard holders may use local transport for free during the duration of the show; all other visitors and exhibitors who use local public transport must buy a travel ticket at their own expense. An Airport-City day ticket is available from the ticket machines at the airport. Select "MVV Münchner Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund" in the top right hand corner of the screen, then “Airport-City-Day- Ticket“; this costs €10.40 for one person and €18.80 for up to five (Partner-Tageskarten). Alternatively, a daily ticket provides unlimited trips from the city centre to the showground until 6am the following morning. For one person this costs €5.20 per day or €12.80 for three days. A five-person group ticket is also available for €9.40 per day or €22 for three days.


Shuttle bus


During ISPO, shuttle buses will run service between the airport and the New Munich Trade Fair Centre. Buses depart every 30 minutes and travel non-stop to the fairground. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes. Tickets cost €7 one-way or €12 for a round trip. Holders of an ispocard can use the shuttle bus free of charge.
