NEWS APPOINTMENTS


NEW DIRECTOR AT LE GALLAIS ROBIN Sappé has been appointed to the Board of Directors at F Le Gallais and Sons. Having joined Le Gallais Estates in 1999 as a Property Negotiator specialising in residential sales and property developments, Robin was appointed as Manager of the Property Sales and Lettings department in 2008. Robin is only the second non-family member to be appointed a Director on the Board in the firm’s 185-year history.


NEW CEO FOR KLEINWORT BENSON SALLY Tennant has been appointed as Chief Executive of Kleinwort Benson Bank. She joins from Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch, the Swiss private bank, where she was Chief Executive of its London-based private banking operation. Sally has over 30 years’ experience in private banking and wealth management, and replaces Robert Taylor, who joined Kleinwort Benson as CEO in 2004.


CHANGES AT STEP JERSEY STEVEN Meiklejohn is the new Chairman of the Jersey branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). A former Vice Chairman of the branch, he was elected at the recent AGM and takes over from Edward Buckland, a Director of Bedell Group, who has stepped down after two years in the post, although he remains on the committee. Tony Pitcher, the Managing Director of Dominion, has become the new Vice Chairman.

FAIRBAIRN TRUST APPOINTS NEW DIRECTOR JERSEY-based Fairbairn Trust Limited has recently strengthened its team with the appointment of Elanco Kanagasabapathy. He joins as Trust Director, having spent five years with Kleinwort Benson where he was employed in the corporate services division. Elanco has over 12 years’ experience in financial services, and his primary responsibility will be business development, focusing on the growth of Fairbairn’s corporate fiduciary offering.

KEY APPOINTMENT AT STANDARD BANK RUSSELL Harte has been appointed to the new dual role of Head of Jersey and CEO of Standard Bank Jersey Ltd. A chartered accountant, Russell has relocated to Jersey from Johannesburg where he was Financial Director at Liberty Holdings, an African wealth


management group which has Standard Bank as its majority shareholder. Russell replaces CEO Ian


Gibson, who is returning to London to run the Group’s Global Private Client business.


NED APPOINTMENTS AT OGIER OGIER has appointed two additional non-executive directors to its legal and fiduciary services businesses. Lesley MacDonagh (above) was Managing Partner of law firm Lovells for 11 years, and has held a number of non-executive director positions. John Eaton is former Chief Operating Officer of the Private Clients and International Banking business of Barclays Bank plc, and held a number of senior positions during his 33-year career in financial services.
