The buzz behind the biggest release of the moment

“If you’ve never liked GT’s po-faced approach to driving games this won’t change your mind. For everyone else this is a resounding success. There are still clear areas for improvement but it’s still the best driving simulation available – even if it’s not the best driving game.”

Mr Pinkerton 16 December 3rd 2010

“Unquestionably a phenomenal achievement and will represent countless lost hours for petrolheads, but GTis no longer the gold standard for driving games. If it takes Yamauchi and his team another five years (or more) to better GT5, the brand runs the risk of being left in the past.” Rupert Higham

“It’s no longer the sole pretender to the title of Best Racing Game; rivals snap at its heels in terms of graphical pyrotechnics, driving feel, and there are better multiplayer games out there. But if you want simply to bask in a deep love for cars, then there is still no better franchise.” Nicky Woolf

“If you’re a hardcore GTfan who enjoys nothing more than lapping endlessly in high-powered vehicles, this game will cater to your needs. Everyone else will find it tedious to work through. Judged purely on driving, GT5is top class but as a game it should have been a whole lot better.”
