Make a Pinecone Fish DIRECTIONS


MATERIALS • Pinecone • Paint • Leaves • Acorns • Glue • String


1) Tie the string around your pinecone so that you can hang it to dry afterward.


2) Paint your pinecone. You can even make your own paint by grinding up flowers and berries and adding a drop of water.


3) Glue on the acorns for a bulging eye effect.


4) Glue the leaves at the sides and back of your pinecone for fins and a tail.


5) Hang your fish from a tree branch to dry.


6) After your fish is dry, you can keep it hanging from the branch for deco- ration, or you can take it to a stream and have a race against your friends’ pinecone fish.
