Speeding things up NKS speed up storage operations with RDS on-board weighing
North Killingholme Storage (NKS) provides one-stop storage and logistical solutions, including customs approved warehousing for bulk products. Based in North Lincolnshire, near Immingham docks, numerous products are received from across the world, stored and then screened or blended to the customer’s requirements before being sent out again. Total capacity of the NKS site is over 250 000ft² and around a million tonnes of different product is turned around each year. To help speed up this operation, NKS have invested in two Loadmaster 9000i onboard weighing systems from RDS North Eastern Ltd for use on their two Volvo L120F wheeled loaders. The Loadmaster 9000i is trade-approved for the commercial sale of goods to MID Class Y(b) and OIML Class R51 & R76 standards and at NKS is currently used in conjunction with a weighbridge, to ensure accurate loading, reducing the time trucks spend on site, increasing accountability and to speed up the complete operation.
Through use of the telemetry link option in the Loadmaster, NKS are looking to phase out the weighbridge and simply send load data direct from the loader to the office where a printed ticket will be automatically produced. This is due to go live later in the year and will further improve operational productivity. NKS have used RDS weighing systems for over 20 years as

Grain intake & outloading system
Chronos BTH prides itself on the scope of its weighing, bagging, palletising and wrapping product portfolio; in the diversity of its customer base and the flexibility of the capabilities of its equipment. Working through the Marlborough, Wiltshire based milling consultant BK Grain Handling Engineers, Chronos BTH has supplied a new bulk weighing system to Fisherton Manor Farm near Warminster, Wiltshire. This site has comprehensive grain processing, weighing and laboratory testing facilities; that are TASCC and Soil Association accredited.
This bulk weighing systems records the intake of grains and seeds into the Fisherton Manor Farm grain store and controls the allocation of the grains to the correct storage silo. By utilising different in plant conveying routes, the same bulk throughput weigher out loads treated grain by controlling the allocated batches of weighed grain to waiting lorries.

Fisherton Manor Farm’s bulk weighing installation comprises a Chrono-Weigh AW301 weigher and the Weights & Measures approved Bulk 8000 weighing controller. This proven combination can operate at rates of up to 140 tonnes/hour and features of the BULK 8000 control modules include:
• Optional PC keyboard connectivity • Storage of up to 250 customer files • 150 product data files
• Up to 100 silos can be addressed • The standard version features up to 150 weighing parameter files for pre- setting of accurate designation of weighing goods
