Filling customers’ needs Rospen launches new FIBC/big bag discharge range

Rospen Industries, a leading supplier of high precision weighing and metering systems for powders, granules and liquids, has recently re-engineered its range of FIBC/ big bag discharge and filling stations and added new products, answering to customer requirements.

Designed for use in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical and plastic sectors, the range is equally applicable to companies operating in minerals and aggregates handling operations. The stations are designed to handle all types of bags and can be coupled with Rospen’s range of metering or transfer feeding systems to provide a regulated discharge of material to the clients’ plant or process.

The FIBC discharge stations incorporate:

• New neck/liner clamp, which allows both open access and fast, dust free, connection of bags.

• Open architecture to avoid the use of difficult access chambers.

• Narrower and lower profile rigging frames for easy manoeuvrability.

• Simplified design and controls for cost effective production Full dust management

• An inflatable rubber membrane gives a dust tight seal for containment of airbourne material. Integral dust extraction or connection to existing Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems.

Vibration • Vibration during filling to de-aerate and compact material ensuring FIBCs are solidly packed. The stations incorporate spring mounted bag supports, which transmit vibration into the product and not the surrounding floor or structure.

Automatic bag inflation • Venturi operated bag inflation system for automatic inflation of the FIBC prior to filling.

Weighing • Rospen’s weighed stations give automatic control of bag filling. They can also be provided to board of trade approved standards, if required.

“In developing this new range of FIBC stations, we listened carefully to feedback from our customers and developed a suitable solution to many of the issues that they were encountering with more traditional FIBC equipment” states Tony McGeever, managing director of Rospen Industries. “We are confident that our latest range of stations are the most efficient, cost-effective and practical that can be found,” he added. • The head can be in the raised position during bag loading and removal and in the lowered position during operation. Adjustment is by simple, low maintenance, pneumatic cylinders. Single arm side rigging frame support allows one operator to easily adjust the bag height.

and lower ownership costs.

• Flow aid bars can be fitted to break compacting material and deliver discharge assisting vibration into the material. • Single or double vibration motors to increase agitation of difficult powders.

• Massage petals to break clumping powders and coerce discharge through the centre of the bag.

The stations can also be fitted with a number of additional options dependent on customer requirements, including flow chokes and liner tensioners.
