“ Sketching the intricate shades of rocks made me think about the earth’s complexity,” says Amanda Rivera of her first-semester cluster course, Art Rocks! “While improving my art skills, I saw the natural world in a whole new way.” A freshman, Amanda appreciates the chance to explore her diverse interests. Inspired by a course on Asian philosophies, she plans to study calligraphy and ink painting next year. She also appreciates the relationships she’s built. “The students in my dorm are like one big family and my teachers all know who I am,” she says. AMANDA RIVERA
