Over the past several years, we have experienced some of the highest rates of unemployment in recent times. More and more people have lost their jobs and found themselves in a painful and stressful transition period. Among a number of life-altering events such as death, serious illness, and divorce, losing a job ranks high among the most stressful.

This career Web chat will explore the personal and professional impact of losing a job and present and discuss a number of strategies for surviving. You will learn ways of dealing with emotional, financial, and career implications of job loss that will help lead you to your next steps.

Have you ever thought about joining the Alumni Advisory Board or self-nominating for an alumni award? If so, don’t miss this opportunity to join two current members of the Alumni Advisory Board in an open discussion about the overall process and their experiences serving on the Board. Also, join this Web chat to learn about the three alumni awards, which recognize the outstanding achievements of our graduates.

Registering for these Web chats is simple. Send an email with your name, mailing address, the name(s) of the chat(s) you wish to attend, and a contact phone number to alumni@excelsior.edu. Registration is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Excelsior College Alumni Library

All alumni are invited to sign up for free, 24-hour access to the Excelsior College Alumni Library. More than 1,050 have already registered. It’s not too late to sign up!

Registration is necessary to access the library and is open on a first-come, first- served basis. All interested alumni can sign up for the Alumni Library by doing the following:

• Go to your My Profile page at www.excelsior.edu/myprofile (requires login with your MyExcelsior username and password) and click “yes” to the library option to add library access.
• Then go directly to the Alumni Library at www.excelsior.edu/alumnilibrary and start exploring!

The library was created to support the lifelong learning and community needs of Excelsior College alumni and offers a wide range of resources.
