WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT THE CONGRESS
I have been waking up every morning with such joy in my heart and song in my soul, knowing that this congress has
moved many people and will have far-reaching effects in the global Baptist family and beyond.
— Regina Claas, general secretary, Union of Evangelical Free Churches in Germany
Great speakers, and with contributions from all continents, and a good gender and ethnic balance, it was clear that the lineup
had been the subject of close attention. Well done on that score.
— David Kerrigan, general director, BMS World Mission, United Kingdom
The most striking thing about the congress is the diversity – diversity over everything apart from our common love of the
Lord Jesus Christ.
— Jonathan Edwards, general secretary, Baptist Union of Great Britain
I have been to scores of large meetings and conventions, but this one exceeded them all…. We got down to the Lord’s
business of seeing the world, and ourselves, through His eyes. And we heard the Spirit’s words from the preachers.
— Jim White, editor, Religious Herald, Virginia, USA
It’s really an empowering experience, because you have so many people from so many other places that are sharing the
word. It’s a wonderful experience.
— Faye Forman, Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
I think the idea of having all these countries here, the fellowship can develop by having these friends around the world and
other people that go through the same struggle that you’re going through.
— Donald Kelly, Maryland, USA
This was my first experience with such a diverse group of Baptists. One of my favorite parts of the event was hearing the
music represented from around the world. The International Music Fest each day was quite unique with various countries
represented there as well.

I’ve been involved with BWA for many years; every one is interesting for me. BWA congress is always an experience
– there’s always something new to learn from people, from teachings, from whatever you learn in the classes, everything is
a learning [experience].
— Zack, Kolkata, India
It was arguably the best Baptist meeting I have attended in recent years (and I attend a bunch of them)! To say it was a
global meeting would be to make a vast understatement. The Hawai‘i Convention Center shimmered with diversity even
though we were all Baptists!
— Rob Nash, coordinator of global missions, Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, USA
It’s a good idea to merge different cultures, to be able to come together with the Lord, to share experiences. Everything
was great, the messages were great.
— Luz-Maria Lopez, Chile
What a wonderful Congress! It was amazing to sing God’s praises with brothers and sisters from around the world, hear
the Gospel taught and proclaimed, and celebrate the election of Virginia Baptist John Upton as President!
