Shoveller takes charge of light rail

Shoveller, 37, will directly oversee management of the group’s light rail operations in Manchester and Sheffield where Stagecoach runs Metrolink and Supertram. He said: ‘The light rail systems

Hyde leaves East Coast

Alan Hyde, head of communications for East


Coast railway, is leaving his role to concentrate on consultancy work. Hyde, 48, was one of the longest- serving comms chiefs in the privatised railway, having joined GNER in 1998. He continued in a communications role both with National Express East Coast and the current East Coast railway. At GNER, he won several


national awards, including for Best PR Campaign in Britain and for Britain's Best In-House PR Team. Neal Smith, formerly external communications manager at East Coast, succeeds him.
