Network Rail gets new head of retail


Gavin McKechnie has joined Network Rail’s property division as head of retail. McKechnie, 47, will focus particularly on the enhancement and expansion of the retail estate at Network Rail run stations, including King’s Cross, Birmingham New Street and Waterloo. He was formerly chief commercial officer at Delhi International airport. He said: ‘This is a key time to


join Network Rail and I am excited at this opportunity. Britain relies on rail, and retail revenue is a vital funding stream for Network Rail. As we seek to deliver ever greater value for the British people, maximising commercial opportunities will help us achieve our goals.’ McKechnie takes over from


Simone Bailey who has now been appointed as Network Rail’s new head of commercial estate.


IRO announces new board members


Neil Henry, Network Rail’s head of operational planning and performance, and Richard O’Brien, the company’s route director for Wessex, replace Derek Holmes, the institution’s late chairman who died earlier this year, and Tom Birch who has left Network Rail.

PULS boosts sales team


Din rail power supply manufacturer PULS UK has appointed Natasha Künker to join its sales and marketing operations at the company’s UK headquarters in Bedfordshire. Künker has just completed a four-year course at Coventry University, where she studied marketing and accountancy.


Charnock takes over Invensys’ finances


Signalling provider Invensys Rail has appointed Graeme Charnock as chief financial officer. He joins the company from AMEC, replacing Geoff Campion who has taken over as vice president of product assurance.


Nolan paints picture of success

Hankinson Painting Group has appointed an operations manager for its growing rail


division. Carl Nolan, 46, will head the group’s rail division, bringing with him 25 years experience of managing multi-million pound rail projects for blasting and industrial painting organisations. He has worked on station


refurbishments including Chester, Marylebone and Edinburgh Waverley.
