Jean Bye Becomes First New President of the Dotson Company in 32 Years The Dotson Co., Mankato, Minn.,


recently announced that Jean Bye will be replacing Denny Dotson as the com- pany’s president. Dotson had been head of the company since he succeeded his father in 1978. “I took over a good company from my


father and made it better. Jean has this same challenge,” Dotson said. “It is my deep belief that with Jean’s leadership, drive and commitment, the company will go from good to great.” Bye has been working at the Dotson


Co. for 35 years and has most recently been responsible for all plant admin- istration, IT and engineering activities. She earned an undergraduate degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn., and a Master of Business Ad- ministration from Minnesota State Univ., Mankato. Bye and her husband Tim have three children. The Dotson Co. is a 110,000-sq.-

MC Obituaries Ronald Howlett, Scottsdale, Ariz.,


died Dec. 1, 2009. He was 76. Howlett worked in the metalcasting industry for 27 years before taking a management position with Omaha Steel Castings, Omaha, Neb., in 1978. He was named president of the company in 1980 and purchased it in 1987. Howlett also was a longtime member of the American Foundry Society (AFS) and served as its director from 1988-1991.


Henry Bray, Fairfield Glade, Tenn.,


died Jan. 11. He was 88. Bray was the founder of coremaker Shells Inc., Wad- sworth, Ohio, and Bourbon, Ind. Bray was a longtime AFS member and served as chairman of the Canton chapter for two terms in the 1970s.
