ust because it is free doesn’t mean it isn’t valuable. In this case, I am referring to our website Metal-
CastingDesign.com. Have you visited it recently? Has it become a resource in your designing or purchas- ing toolbox?
We love
MetalCastingDesign.com. We think it is the best
source of information on the web for designing and buying metal castings. Is it perfect? Of course not. But it is mov- ing closer toward perfection every day. I figure we will be there by the year 2050. We have focused this website on being an information companion to the print edition of Metal Casting Design & Purchasing that you are reading right now. The website augments and enhances the information in each month’s issue, instead of just replicating it.
Start with our site’s daily and weekly updated sections: • Metalcasting News—This is updated daily and pro- vides the latest industry happenings.
• What’s New—Updated at least once a week, this section tells you what has changed most recently on the website. What articles have been added? What blogs have been added? Has the digital is- sue changed?

• How to Buy & How to De- sign—These sections of the site are in the beginning stages of becoming a web-based encyclopedia on cast- ing design and sourcing topics.
• Digital Issue—Each print issue is provided digitally for you to download .pdfs of your fa- vorite articles and send them to others in need of a refresher.
• Blogs & Audicasts—Our editors and the indus- try we cover lend their voices to the news and features we relay through blogs and au- diocasts regularly posted to the site. Beyond the regularly updated informa-
tion related to design and sourcing, our website contains online tools to help you. • Design Assistance—This section contains the metalcasting pro- cess selector to help you deter- mine what casting process in which to source your component and casting tutorials to help you understand the design and sourcing process.

• Casting Suppliers—This section is our directory of metalcasters in North America. Our online search tool helps you find potential suppliers for your component. • Metalcasting Library—This is the world’s largest. The online search allows you to find articles on almost any metalcasting-related subject and then order them for your own library. While this isn’t everything on
the website, hopefully I have piqued your interest enough for you to go take a look. If after looking you have suggestions for us, please email me those ideas. You know what you need
best, and we want to be the one to provide it. Happy surfing!
