The project is for the rehabilitation of the westbound bridge no. M-0131-4 on East Gude Drive over the CSX Transportation Railroad (CSXT) and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Metro Rail located approximately 0.1 mile east of MD 355 (Rockville Pike) in Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland. The existing structure is a four span bridge with an out-to-out width of 46 feet 8 inches and carrying three lanes of traffic in the westbound direction.

The work to be done under this contract will consist of, but are not limited to the following:

• Removal and replacement of the concrete deck, parapets, sidewalk and curb to the full length of the existing wing walls.

• Connecting the existing simple supported beams at Pier No.2 to be continuous under live load.

• Jacking and/or removing the beams in the East Span to modify the existing expansion bearings to be fixed and the existing fixed bearings to be expansion.

• Modifying the existing East Abutment to be jointless, semi-integral abutment with a roadway approach slab.

• Repairing cracks and spalls in the concrete substructure units • Spot cleaning and painting portion of the existing structural steel.
