The Daily Form goes live

MRG CONTINUES TO roll out its DailyForm touchscreen form guide to independent bookmakers with the latest installations taking place in Eastbourne,Truro and Wolver- hampton. The DailyForm is based on the same 26” touch- screen, using the same proven technology that has been em- ployed so successfully on Coral and Paddy Power CITs. The Press Association Sport supplies all the data which is considerably more than any alternative supplied by the printed press. The DailyForm currently delivers horse racing, dogs, football and tennis straight to your fingertips. Cricket and golf are expected to be introduced later in the year. But it’s not just the number of sports on this product that’s impressive, it’s also the quality of the data. Exploring any event on these touchscreens quickly uncovers a wealth of good, solid, stats and figures. All major events are covered from say the Australian Open Tennis Championships to a complete analysis of events taking place on the domestic scene. Special events are also

covered; for the World Cup this year a wealth of data was made available. There were spotlights

I think when the system has developed to its full potential with the latest prices, etc. it will be a must for all shops. It will not only help the punters but the staff too.” How much? A unit costs £26.50 per week plus VAT (this rounds up to £135 per month incl VAT) based on a minimum three year contract that includes all the live updates plus hardware and software support. There is nothing else to pay, no hidden costs and everything is taken care of by MRG.

punters have access to the latest available information. Racing’s non-runners and results are displayed simultaneously with the gantry screen updates. In addition there is a breaking news service and that means your customers are the first to get the latest sports news, first hand. With such an intuitively simple design, just a few

customers are drawn from the largest bookmakers on the high street, which means the independent market has not been exposed to the product lines or the service levels that MRG offer. But now, a series of new product releases coupled with targeted investment to develop the support function is beginning to pay dividends. Chris Hurst of Triangle

BETPACK’S, IRELAND’S LOCAL bookmaker online betting service, is growing in leaps and bounds. Media advertising started in May featuring an exclusive offer on the World Cup that got everyone talking, including Bill O’Herlihy, anchor man on RTE’s World Cup coverage, with BetPack offering to refund all outright losing bets on the World Cup if Spain won the competition. new Irish offering. A nice coup for the BetPack lads! Sign-ups to BetPack are

running at record levels, encouraged no doubt by all the hoopla surrounding the World Cup. BetPack shops are also playing their part with many new registrations coming via the shop floor. Punters now realise that independents, long renowned for being more accommodating to punters, bring the same level of commitment to their online offering. Many shop customers have come to trust the local connection and they like the personal approach an online local offering brings. Furthermore,

members are poised to introduce inter-shop payouts across their estates. This is great news for punters who will be able to collect their winnings at any of the 183 shops irrespective of the BetPack member the bet was placed with. Jimmy Finlay of Bamburys Leinster said: “This is a huge breakthrough for us and fantastic news for punters everywhere. It will mean punters can pick up their winnings in any part of the country. If punters are attending a festival, wedding or funeral down the country they can place their bets and collect at any of our 183 shops.” Interest is also growing

among other independents. Finlay said: “We have a lot of interest from other independ- ents about BetPack and many see the value in trading under one great big brand. We are not
