Option 2: Advanced Driver Development Day
- For High Mileage Occupational Drivers
Based at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, the day is structured around the amazing circuits of Millbrook and a selection of local road driving scenarios. With 2 instructors we can work with up to 6 delegates per day.
The delegates own
vehicle is used for the morning session and one of the CAT Driver Training modern saloon cars for the Millbrook element in the afternoon. Building from the morning road session and presentations, the circuits at Millbrook are explored to practice the more extreme elements of vehicle control and driver behaviour.
The motor vehicle has advanced beyond recognition over the last 20 years, but have we, the user, invested the time to understand how to use the active safety aids provided by the manufacturer? Designed for our safety and to reduce the risk of a crash, your instructor will demonstrate, explain and then coach you in the workings of ESP, VDC, Traction Control & ABS. In complete safety we nurture the delegate in accident avoidance and emergency braking, best practice cornering techniques to optimise grip and stability, along with briefings on vehicle dynamics. Using the wet grip braking facility
the relationship between varying road surfaces and safe stopping distances is explored.
A great way to motivate your staff in best practice safe driving techniques in an environment which contributes to a beneficial and enjoyable experience. The day ends with a presentation and debrief.
