H. Mark Else (’80), pastor in Crestwood, Ill., was profiled in the city’s Southtown Star recently. Rev. Else says watching people grow spiritually is the best part of his job. He is married to Paula (Dayhoff ’79).

John and Cindy (Rempel ’92) Gardiner were recently approved as missionaries with American Missionary Fellowship. They will serve in southwest Minnesota, working with unchurched and under-churched families to reach them for Christ. Currently, they are in deputation to raise support. Maximus Dougherty Hayla Edwards


Emily Tummons (’99), University of Kansas instructor of Kaqchikel, one of 30 Mayan languages spoken in Central America, traveled to Guatemala with KU students to assist Guatemalans displaced by Tropical Storm Agatha. Tummons is chair of the board of directors of Wuqu’ Kawoq, a Kansas City-based organization seeking aid to provide clean water, supply food and assist in rebuilding efforts in Guatemala’s Highland and Lake regions.

Paul Van Sickle (’04) has joined WAY-FM (KXWA/Denver) as operations coordinator/ morning show producer. He previously taught radio broadcasting at MNU while working at KCWJ/Kansas City and operating a D.J. company. He and wife, Kristin (Cotton ’05), are the parents of Emery, 3, and Cohen, 1.


2010s


Lt. Glenn W. Ryman (’10), has been named the 14th-highest ranking cadet out of this year’s Army ROTC graduates in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Guam.


Remy Swearengin Airman Jesse Farris Follow MNU Alumni on


Senior Airman Jesse Farris (f.s. ’11), 442nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron crew chief, saved the life of an injured driver he found on the side of a snow-packed highway last winter. Using his training and an Airman’s Manual, Farris kept


the man safe until a rescue team arrived. Farris’ squadron is a part of the 442nd Fighter Wing at Whiteman Air Force Base, Mo.

Passings


Richard L. Drullinger, Sr., (f.s. ’84) died March 29, 2010 at McCook Community Hospital, McCook, Neb. He was 51 years old.


Richard was born to Lewis and Marlene (Anderson) Drullinger on Dec. 31, 1958, in Cozad, Neb. He attended MidAmerica and graduated from North Platte Community College in 2003.


Surviving him is his wife, Leona; sons, Richard Jr., and wife Tamara; and Brandon; daughters, Charity Brown and husband, Michael; and Kelsy Graves and husband, Chris; father, Lewis Drullinger; step-brothers Larry Drullinger and Daryl Brown; half sister, Kathy Walker; and 11 grandchildren.
