Pre-dating the current nu- disco explosion by a decade, Metro Area (AKA Darshan Jesrani and Morgan Geist), were miles ahead of the game when it came to producing and arranging tracks based around disco and boogie, releasing their debut eponymous album in 2002. We unearthed this footage of Darshan laying down the kind of hot dancefloor magic which paved the way for DJs like Tensnake, who is appearing alongside them.
Twin Hype the Martinez Brothers’ school disco
Despite still being at high school, The Martinez Brothers have already gained a reputation as a multi-limbed mixing machine, supporting Dennis Ferrer on Objektivity and generally tearing the decks and dancefloor up wherever they go, as equally at home dropping original disco classics as they are with jacking house or ‘80s electro.
