Vinyl manufacturer, Hexis, has released its 2010 catalogue featuring a number of new products. Redesigned with a fresh new look, the catalogue includes technical details, applications for each product and recommended tools and laminates to use with each film.
The catalogue, which is targeted at all professionals involved in signage and vehicle markings, features colour charts, overviews of specifications and durabilities for Hexis products and a handy digital printing glossary.

Flying the flag for carbon-neutral footie
A banner produced by Hampshire Flag is being used to promote what is claimed to be the world's first carbon-neutral football match. The six by six metre banner was supplied at a reduced price for the match between teams from opposite ends of the country, Plymouth Argyle and Newcastle.
Manufactured from 210gsm fire retardant polyester display material, the banner played a key role in raising awareness of the game’s energy- saving bid. The project worked to ensure any damage to the environment as a result of staging the game was offset through renewable energy projects.
Managing director of Hampshire Flag, Graham Wilkinson, said: “We are committed to supporting any venture which helps to protect the environment. We were delighted to provide the banner at cost and we hope it helped raise awareness and media attention of Plymouth and Newcastle’s ground-breaking game.”

An array of new products are included such as cast vinyls with new colours and finishes for vehicle wraps, a range of Flex foils for textiles and a new line of environment friendly latex media. The section on tools and accessories has also been overhauled and covers everything from basic squeegees to electronic measuring instruments.

White ink printer widens service
Having invested in a new white ink printer, Eastern Exhibition and Display is able to provide an expanded service to its creative industry client base. The Jetrix 2513 offers white ink in addition to CMYK, making it ideal for industrial large format printing on a variety of rigid and flexible substrates.
Managing director at Eastern, Ewen McLean, said: “The chief advantage of this printer is that it offers greater scope for creativity in the production of graphics for windows or for direct to substrate printing.”
The printer is suitable for a variety of applications, including packaging, exhibition graphics, promotional gifts, indoor and outdoor advertising, posters, displays, signs, POP-advertising. It can be used on both rigid and flexible substrates including, PVC, wood, acrylic, tiles, cardboard, aluminium, glass and paper.
