(LAG). The cameras use high-quality interline CCD progressive scan sensors from Kodak. SVS-Vistek's configuration software allows operation in slower 1- or 2-tap mode with only one GigE interface. The cameras are available as monochrome or colour versions. The optical interface is a M58 or M42 thread, F- or C-Mount adapter. Areas of application for these cameras include optical metrology, print inspection and PCB inspection, as well as in the solar, wafer and semiconductor industries. www.svs-vistek.com

Compact smart camera Vision

Components (VC) has

introduced the VC6210 nano

smart camera; a high-performance, low-cost model. The units, which are equipped with 8MB Flash and 128MB DRAM, have more memory space than all other VC camera models. Featuring a 700MHz processor and 5,600MIPS, the cameras are fast and provide high computing power.

IDS Imaging Development Systems has introduced the ICX-445 CCD sensor from Sony for a selection of its uEye camera models. The 1/3-inch sensor with a resolution of 1,280 x 960 pixels combines a very high frame rate with outstanding light sensitivity. Particularly in the near-infrared range, the sensor is sensitive and thus ideal for use in industrial manufacturing environments and traffic surveillance. The ICX-445 sensor is available in colour and monochrome versions for the USB cameras of the SE series with standard housing, for the RE series in IP65/67 design, and for all GigE models. Compared with the proven ICX-205 half-inch version, the new sensor provides about twice the sensitivity and up to double the frame rate.

Cameras with USB interface can acquire up to 25fps, while the GigE uEye SE and the robust IP65/67- rated GigE uEye RE cameras deliver up to 28fps. IDS’s GigE UI-6140- HE achieves frame rates up to 40fps.

The VC6210 nano camera measures 80 x 45 x 20mm, while its sister model, the single board camera VCSBC6210 nano, measures 40 x 65mm. Both types can be integrated easily into applications with limited installation space. Like all intelligent cameras from Vision Components, the models independently execute all image processing tasks without an external PC. The cameras feature an Ethernet interface and can optionally be equipped with an RS232 interface. Images are recorded by means of a global shutter CMOS sensor whose performance equals that of a CCD sensor, providing clear, high-resolution pictures even in extremely fast applications. www.vision-components.com

Ideal for data matrix reading

Cognex has introduced Advantage Image Engines, a family of programmable vision devices for OEMs. The systems offer superior 1D barcode and 2D data matrix code reading, plus a full suite of industry-proven Cognex vision tools that make it possible to solve even the most challenging inspection applications reliably. Advantage Image Engines are designed for

easy integration into commercial and industrial equipment and feature a modular design that provides more user control over lighting, communication, and optics.

The systems use the same code- reading algorithms found in Cognex industrial ID readers. Powerful Cognex decoding software allows fast, high-performance reading of 1D and 2D codes on almost any surface at any speed, including difficult to read codes caused by low contrast, scratches and voids, or reflections.

Weld seam inspection system

Three product configuration options are available, including engine only, engine plus interface board, and engine encased in housing. Modular lens design enables a wide choice of optics to accommodate varying working distances and field of view requirements. The systems offer the ability to power and control external lighting. www.cognex.com/engines

Frame grabberS Matrox Orion HD

Matrox Imaging has introduced Matrox

Orion HD, a graphics and video capture board supporting standard and high definition video inputs and outputs including 1080p/60. Orion HD captures from two

independent digital or analogue HD video sources and can output these video streams, which can be different formats, on the desktop. With support for different interfaces and flexible connectivity, the board can also switch

Vitronic has upgraded its VIROwsi weld seam inspection system with a new sensor incorporated in a slim design housing. The system objectively inspects the seam and sorts out defective parts. It determines the size and position of all relevant defects such as pores, holes, undercuts and seam geometry in real time. All results are directly incorporated into a protocol and stored for subsequent tracking. The acquired data forms the basis for the process optimisation, as well as for the manual and automatic reworking of the seam.

The utilisation of the sensor opens up new applications. The compact sensor design ensures good accessibility to the component and the seam under inspection. Due to combined 2D/3D image recording, even extremely flat seams can be reliably inspected. Highly reflective materials such as aluminium can also be inspected. www.vitronic.de

between SDI, DVI-D, RGB, CVBS (up to three) and YPrPb signals on each independent path. This allows for capturing and displaying different formats: SD (NTSC and PAL), HD (720p, 1080i and 1080p) or typical PC resolutions up to 1,920 x 1,200. With its Matrox-designed

graphics controller, Orion HD acts as a primary or secondary display device. Captured video and images are displayed on the desktop or to a separate monitor exclusive to the application. Also supported is the option of adding standard graphics annotations. www.matrox.com/imaging
