In Brief
RAAPA 2010
DESPITE the difficult economic conditions currently afflicting many markets around the world, RAAPA 2010 took place with great success in March, as amusement manufacturers, suppliers and operators focus their attention on the myriad opportunities to be found in Russia and the surrounding region. Taking place annually at Moscow’s VVTs
centre, the exhibition - organised by the Russian Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions and supported by its US- based counterpart, IAAPA - remains the primary amusement and gaming show in the Commonwealth of Independent States. The 2010 edition of RAAPA attracted
amusement industry specialists from 69 regions of Russia and the CIS. In addition, the event drew more than 30 foreign companies from
20 foreign countries, including Italy, Germany, the UK, Japan, India, Spain, Belgium, Taiwan, China, Austria and Turkey.
“RAAPA has become the
business platform which not only represents the modern entertainment equipment and amusement rides industry, but also shows the future direction of the industry,” the group said in the wake of the show. “It is significant that
the exhibition provides the opportunity for not only sales, but also personal communication with clients, investigation into new markets, public relations and completing partnership agreements.” The next edition of RAAPA will again take place at VVTs in Moscow from March 16-18, 2011.
