Rainbow continues to expand services

OVER recent months, UK costume character company Rainbow Productions has partnered with several licensors to develop a number of new stage shows featuring live performances from famous cartoon characters.

The firm has worked with the UK leisure parks and

attractions industry for 25 years to deliver added entertainment, through creating custom-made mascots, scripting and performing stage shows featuring costume characters and puppets and also managing the personal appearances of licensed cartoon characters. Rainbow Productions now offers personal appearances

from more than 90 licensed characters - often booked as part of special events programmes - and the design and manufacture of bespoke walk-about mascots for use within parks to interact with guests. The company provides exclusive 15-20 minute live

shows to UK attractions and parks, featuring popular acts such as HIT Entertainment’s TV celebrities Bob the Builder, Angelina Ballerina, Fireman Sam and Barney, as well as Chapman Entertainment’s Fifi Forget-Me-Not and Roary the Racing Car. New licensed characters exclusively available through

Rainbow Productions in 2010 include Ben and Holly from Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom, the BAFTA award-winning

pre-school television show; Thomas the Tank Engine and the Fat Controller; and Humungousaur and Four Arms, characters from the hit show Ben 10 Alien Force. On Easter Sunday, visitors to the UK’s Crealy Great

Adventure Parks’ Cornwall site will see the Barney Show in action at various intervals throughout the day. For four consecutive days over Easter, the group will also be managing the personal appearances of Madagascar characters Rico and Skipper at London Zoo. Elsewhere, the Historic Dockyard in Chatham, Kent, will be hosting a Fireman Sam show on April 5, adding to the entertainment on offer. In recent years, Rainbow Productions has expanded its

European client base and the company is also currently building up key contacts is the Middle East. “Rainbow Productions first exhibited at DEAL (in

Dubai) in 2007,” said sales and marketing director Simon Foulkes. “This April will be the fourth consecutive year the company will take an exhibition stand. Our presence at these trade shows has helped us to gradually increase the number of contacts in the region and I’m pleased to say that we’re now working more and more with leisure clients in several Middle Eastern countries, supplying quality costume characters for use in branding and entertainment programmes.”
