Noah’s Ark installs

Scorpion’s Tail

NOAH’S Ark waterpark, in Wisconsin Dells, US, has installed the country’s first looping waterslide. Scorpion’s Tail, an AquaLoop from Whitewater West, is the tallest and largest of its kind in the world. Smaller versions exist in Slovenia, Germany and Japan and the ride

features a launch that plummets riders into a freefall down an enclosed chute at a top speed of nearly 40mph before entering a looping slide. Construction on the US$1m ride began in September 2009 and when

completed Scorpion’s Tail will be just over 400ft in length with riders climbing nearly 80ft to the top of the lift tower. They then enter the launch “rocket,” a tube with a floor, with the floor dropping out of the tube and gravity, water and centrifugal force taking over. Riders go through a 45-degree angled loop-the-loop at speeds of up to 40mph.

The new AquaLoop at Noah’s Ark waterpark will bring a new type of thrill to visitors.

Ice Land to open in spring

ICE LAND waterpark, the latest waterpark facility in the Middle East, is set

to be unveiled to the public this spring. The project is the first offering from Wow Rak, a 120-acre family

entertainment destination being developed in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, 80km north of Dubai, which will also include an amusement park, shopping mall and resort facilities. Inspired by the phenomenon of global warming, the experience at

Ice Land waterpark is all about a new homeland for penguins along the coastal waters of the Arabian sea. Covering 110,000 sq m, Ice Land has a capacity of up to 15,000

guests and in addition to traditional waterpark attractions will offer unique attractions including the Penguin Falls, the world’s largest man- made water fall, the Rocky Polar Mountains with a large assortment of water slides, Penguin Bay, aqua soccer, a snorkeling pool and other thrilling experiences.
