G2E key for GLI

Go to stand 943 to see the brilliant GLI Link and much, much more

2E Asia will be a key tradeshow for Gaming Laboratories International (GLI). GLI has a fully functional lab in Macau, GLI Asia, which serves regulators and suppliers

throughout the entire region. At G2E Asia, GLI will be in stand #943, and the company will be talking about it services and its exclusive tools for regulators and suppliers, such as the new, award-winning GLI Link. GLI Link is a revolutionary technology that

allows suppliers to remotely test devices against systems for interoperability. Before GLI Link, devices would have to be shipped all over the world, adding time and expense to the testing process. With GLI Link, a supplier can ship to their local GLI lab, and the device can be tested against any system in any other GLI lab, saving time and money. This is especially critical for suppliers throughout Asia, who can now save time and money by delivering devices to GLI Asia in Macau, instead of shipping equipment to GLI’s Las Vegas lab. GLI Link is beneficial to the entire industry

because interoperability is becoming increasingly important. Manufacturers, operators and regulators all have a vested interest in knowing that games and systems talk to each other correctly and give accurate reporting of casino activity. In fact, online connectivity of a gaming device to a casino host system is absolutely vital to ensure accurate transfer of information, including accounting and security events. As technology has advanced, and now that systems are providing electronic funds transfer and TITO, interoperability is more important than ever, and more and more jurisdictions are requiring this type of testing. But shipping devices and systems all over the world can be cumbersome,

GSA drives the future

Gaming Standards Association to discuss protocol standards benefits

he Gaming Standards Association (GSA) has a worldwide membership roster that includes operators, suppliers, test labs and more. GSA’s award-winning protocols are driving

the innovative products that will shape the future of the industry, and at G2E Asia, GSA will be in stand #1619, and will be talking about the many benefits protocol standards bring to the industry. No matter the size of the casino or where in

the world the device or system is built, standards give suppliers and operators a common platform to operate from, eliminating the need for IT “patches” once devices and systems arrive on the casino floor. The new devices and systems on display at G2E Asia will be driven by GSA protocols, and the GSA stand will be the perfect place for operators to learn how they can get involved in GSA to ensure future development and to ensure that operators’ voices are heard as new protocols are being considered and created. As new devices and systems are unveiled at tradeshows like G2E Asia, operators frequently

ask GSA, Do I have to turn over my entire floor at once? Operators understand the new GSA standards, they are excited about their potential, and want the new devices and systems that run on the protocols, but they seem to be a bit overwhelmed by the idea of converting their entire casino floor to be able to use them. GSA has one word for them: relax. There is good news in all of this newness that is sweeping the industry. The good news is, operators don’t have to convert their entire floor at once, and the even better news is they don’t have to do it alone. The reason for calm in what might first seem

like a whirlwind is that conversion can easily be done bank-by-bank. Because GSA protocols work with existing devices and systems currently in operation, those devices and systems will all still talk to one another, allowing operators to reduce their floor conversion to bite-size pieces, conquering the casino floor at a pace that makes them comfortable. There’s no doubt about it – the next

expensive and delay time to market. GLI Link solves that problem and brings worldwide interoperability testing to life. GLI will also be talking about its recent acquisition of TST Global, and about the many benefits the acquisition brings to the companies’ supplier and regulator clients. With the acquisition, GLI created a new Interactive Gaming division, GLI Interactive B.V. and has acquired the assets, intellectual property and trade names of Technical Systems

Testing (TST), the undisputed leader in interactive gaming testing, systems testing, and

wagering system certification for

regulators around the world. The new division will allow GLI to combine its services with TST’s deep technical knowledge in the iGaming and interactive gaming niche.

generation of devices and systems that are powered by GSA protocols will put any property in a stronger competitive position. But how quickly a property converts their floor is flexible because the protocols will enable operators to convert an entire floor at once, or pursue a bank-by-bank option. As GSA will explain in its stand, membership is critically important for the future success of gaming operators, because decisions are being made in our committees that will affect the future of gaming for generations to come.
