Statistical process control options
Umetrics has released version 3.4 of Simca-Batch On-Line (SBOL). SBOL is an off-the- shelf, Windows-based software, providing multivariate statistical process control and batch statistical process control (BSPC) for batch processes. SBOL 3.4 supports alarms based on results, including visualisation and export of triggered alarms. New in this version is Notes for annotations
enabling functionality for process diary. SBOL 3.4 has support for projects created in Simca-P+ 12 and is available both as 32-bit and 64-bit. SBOL 3.4 has a robust client/ server architecture with a dedicated server that performs all calculations in real time and then sends the results to the client to visualise the results. Results can also be sent back to the historian for further communication to Scada or DCS systems.

The collections contain numerous components that allow researchers, developers and IT professionals to perform both science-specific and generic data-processing functions. Many of the Pipeline Pilot Collections were updated for version 8.0, with the most notable enhancements in the Reporting, Imaging, Chemistry and Statistics Collections.
Other enhancements make it faster and simpler to build and debug protocol applications, automate scientific workflows, reduce cycle times and improve productivity. Other improvements include support for Windows Server 2008 64-bit infrastructures. Role-based authorisation, and remote server monitoring make the system more secure and easier to administer, while interactive web-based reporting and new collaboration features deliver a range of capabilities needed for more productive scientific workgroup and enterprise-scale computing. Accelrys has also improved its integration with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, making it easier to deploy protocol applications, scientific research papers and reports for wider use across the R&D enterprise, enabling more effective collaboration.
