PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe, will present its latest news, including information about the PRACE Research Infrastructure, how to access the PRACE resources, technical results from the PRACE project and information about the PRACE implementation project.

The organisation will be holding a session entitled ‘PRACE Open Dialog with European Tier-0 Users’ on 1 June at 9.00-13.00. PRACE will also have an exhibition stand and PRACE members will be available to answer any questions. PRACE is involved in the development

of a persistent pan-European HPC service, consisting of several Tier-0 centres providing European researchers and industry with access to world-class computers and forming the top level of the European HPC ecosystem. PRACE is a project funded in part by the EU’s 7th Framework Programme.

ScaleMP will be highlighting vSMP Foundation 3.0 and a beta release of its new VM-on-VM technology. vSMP Foundation 3.0 will include increased performance with improved backplane bandwidth, expanded hardware support and unlimited modular scale for the creation of virtual symmetric multiprocessing systems from two to 128 nodes, enabling users to create the largest x86 shared-memory system available on the market. By supporting new Nehalem- EX-based servers, the largest vSMP Foundation-based SMP system can be configured with a staggering 8,192 high- performance processing cores and 64TB of RAM. The new VM-on-VM technology capability enables large, previously- installed server virtualisation deployments to run on a consolidated virtual symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) system for improved virtual machine (VM)

Clustrx represents a supercomputing system as a ‘blackbox’ that aggregates the computing power of a great number of nodes that can be totally heterogeneous into a comprehensible and scalable service which can be deployed, controlled, and distributed from a single point. T-Platforms will also spotlight the company’s comprehensive services offering the entire spectrum of HPC demand, from turn-key supercomputing centre deployment up to end-to-end modelling, simulation and analysis capabilities in various application areas.

TotalView Technologies, now a Rogue Wave Software company, will be showcasing the latest versions of its products, TotalView, MemoryScape, and ReplayEngine. TotalView, a comprehensive source code and memory debugging solution, is ideal for data-intensive, multi-process, multi-threaded, or network-distributed applications. MemoryScape is a graphical, dynamic memory analysis tool for C, C++ and Fortran. ReplayEngine, a TotalView add-on, records program execution history and replays it for diagnosis in TotalView and MemoryScape, letting you work back

Visualization Sciences Group will present

version 6 of the Avizo 3D visualisation and analysis software family. Avizo 6 supports research and technology innovations in geosciences (Avizo Earth), materials science and industrial non- destructive testing (Avizo Fire), integrated CAE pre/post-processing (Avizo Wind), and climate studies (Avizo Green). Avizo’s expandable open framework, transparent interoperability to virtual reality environment and advanced scalability on HPC visualisation systems make it an unmatched 3D visualisation and analysis tool in today’s interdisciplinary research and development.

VSG will also show version 8 of the de facto 3D development toolkit, Open Inventor. This version delivers unmatched high performance via innovative out-of- core data management, distributed parallel rendering and extended support for multicore and GPGPU acceleration. This will be illustrated by examples in CFD simulation field extraction, seismic volume visual processing, and climate simulation post-processing.
