THE SaltireFoundation’s Internship programme offers one of the finest work experience opportunities in the land – and that’s not just the opinion of alumni Adam Muir. The National Council for Work Experience agree – and this year placed the SaltireFoundation second in the UK out of a nomination list which featured 120 top British organisations. Adam, currently completing his final year of a degree course in Finance and Accounting at Strathclyde Business School, enjoyed an eight-week internship at IBM in China, under the stewardship of GlobalScot John Paterson. His nomination resulted
in the SatireFoundation being Highly Commended at this year’s awards night. Adam said the experience helped both in his studies and in his personal development. “It’s second to none,” he commented.
Adam, who is planning to take up a post with IBM in Portsmouth after his studies, added: “It is exceptional work experience, you are not just there to make the tea, you are thrown in at the deep end. I was involved in inventory control, submitting daily reports to the board.”
