19.0 TECHNICAL, SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT CARD – INDUSTRY ACCREDITATION ROUTE
19.1 This route is for those without an NVQ or SVQ or Professional Membership. Applicants can apply for a card through industry accreditation. However, it is important to note
that most occupations are no longer available for industry accreditation.
19.2 This route requires two separate recommendations from the following:
• Current line manager, or • A senior manager from the same company, or • Member of a professional institute or institution.
19.3 These recommendations confirm that the applicant has met the occupational specific competencies agreed by Construction Industry Council (CIC). Current CSCS health and safety requirements must also be met.
19.4 Cards available by this route are: Gold Card Supervisory Level Based on NVQ or SVQ Level 3 competencies Black Card Management LevelBased on NVQ or SVQ Level 4 or 5 competencies
19.5 This route of entry is open temporarily for a maximum of three years. For the majority of occupations industry accreditation has now closed.
19.6 This card is valid for five years and is renewable upon application, providing CSCS health and safety requirements are met.
19.7 Professional qualifications will not be shown on the cards.
20.0 TECHNICAL, SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT CARD – EXPERIENCED TECHNICAL, SUPERVISOR AND MANAGER ROUTE
20.1 This route is for experienced technicians, supervisors and managers whose occupation has closed for industry accreditation and they meet current CSCS health and safety requirements.
20.2 A red Experienced Technical, Supervisory or Management card is issued. 20.3 This card is valid for three years and is non-renewable.
20.4 The card is issued on a temporary basis, while a NVQ or SVQ is being achieved. It is expected to be replaced by a skilled five year card on achievement of NVQ or SVQ Level 3 or higher.
N.B. CSCS will also accept the relevant equivalent QCF (Qualification and Credit Framework) qualification, providing it has NVQ in its title.
