THE PROMISE:To Clean Up Broken British Politics

The MP’s expenses scandal left the public reeling and then David Cameron made it his mission to clean up British politics, presenting the Tories as the party of change.

On 13th December 2009 he issued a statement concerning non- doms - people who do not pay full tax in the UK, preferring to store their riches in offshore tax-havens.

He stated clearly that to serve in Parliament, as either a Peer in the House of Lords or as an MP in the Commons, you must be “a full UK taxpayer: end of story.”
