Co Ltd has won a US$500million engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) contract for a deepwater dynamically positioned 3 (DP3) semisubmersible rig to be named Sevan Brasil. Block fabrication for the rig is currently under way.

Te rig is based on the design of Sevan Driller and is scheduled for delivery to Sevan Drilling Pte Ltd in the first quarter of 2012. Cosco Shipyard Group has announced that this

award makes it the first shipbuilding group in China to have secured a full EPCI contract to construct a deepwater DP3 semisubmersible drilling rig.

Sembcorp SMOE wins topside contract

SMOE, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine, has secured a contract worth Sing$550

million (US$393 million approximately) from ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS, Norway, to build the Ekofisk accommodation topside to be installed in the North Sea. The contract entails the provision of engineering,

procurement and construction of 10,000tonne accommodation topside that houses 552 personnel. Other key deliverables include two bridges, a bridge connector and a helideck. Te platform will also feature a built-in centralised telecommunications centre and a control tower. An initial two months of engineering design work on

the accommodation cabins, led by a team of senior SMOE design engineers, will be carried out in Norway. Construction of the project is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2010 with delivery scheduled for 2013 installation. On completion, it will be deployed at the Greater Ekofisk Area, which is located approximately 300km offshore Stavanger. At location, the topside will sit above a water depth of 80m. Te contract is not expected to have any material

impact on the earnings and net tangible assets per share of Sembcorp Marine for the year ending 31 December 2010. OMT
