LOW-LEVEL ACCESS continued

Eazzi-Lifts from r2

r2 Access Platforms distributes the push around scissor lift range manufactured by Eazzi- Lift, developed following close consultation with access hire companies. Models available incorporate automatic

secondary braking, full entry gates, and pullout drawers that contain major components for ease of maintenance. The machines, which carry a two-year warranty, can be powder coated in customer liveries, and can be found in the fleets of AFI-Uplift, Hi-Reach, Neon Hire and Speedy, amongst others. The company is also the UK and Ireland distributor for US-based Custom Equipment, which manufactures the Hy-Brid range of low-level self-propelled lifts, designed for the hire industry. The two models currently available in the UK are the 1030CE, a 5m machine weighing 680kg and with a 340kg lift capacity, and the S830CE, a 4.2m self-propelled scissor weighing less than 500kg and which can turn within its own radius.

Manoeuvrable Bravi machines

Bravi UK’s Leonardo is a lightweight, self-propelled low-level access platform designed for manoeuvrability. It can be driven at its full 4.9m working height, fits through a standard doorway, and can travel up to 7.5 miles on one charge. Following feedback from hirers, the Leo Nuovo has been introduced. Designed for greater robustness, it is also available as an outdoor rated

platform, with the option of a height extension kit to give a 6m working height.

Other models include the narrow Lui 460, a 6.6m working height platform that incorporates dual outreach extension decks to facilitate up-and-over working round obstacles.

Altrex solution

Altrex, based in Holland, offers the Modular Triangle Bridge (MTB) scaffold system, designed for builders, painters and other tradesmen working on

building façades. The product incorporates vertical support stands and special V-shaped trusses, available in lengths of 2, 3 and 4m, and installations of up

34

to 12m long can be achieved.

Designed to be lightweight, the MTB can be assembled at ground level and then brought up to the required height by using a hand winch. The trusses can be stacked, and Altrex says that a 12m platform can be built in 12 minutes. This year, the manufacturer is celebrating its 60th anniversary and, to mark the occasion, is introducing several new products, including the 3400 series of modular, mobile aluminium towers offering a maximum working height of 6m. Limited edition ladders, folding ladders and stepladders in a commemorative red livery will also be launched.

Turner products in demand

Turner Industries reports that its versatile Deltadeck is popular within industries ranging from aviation to offshore engineering, and users from local authorities to facilities management companies. It can be assembled

within one minute and is easily transported. The low-level access range also includes the Sigmadeck folding tower, the Alphastep podium step and the Omegadeck bridging platform. The BetaGuard integral advance guardrail system is available for

Turner’s Beta and Octo tower systems. Already in use across multiple UK construction sites, it is designed to provide a safer system of assembly and disassembly than traditional methods. The BetaGuard system also deals with other risks associated with ergonomics, as it does away with any need to twist, turn and stretch to fit the tower guardrails BetaGuard tower assembly eliminates the need for both horizontal and diagonal braces, reducing the main components to a total of three, improving stock utilisation and asset management, and reducing the risk of theft.
