Youngman’s Boss X Series additions

Following the launch last year of the 4.5m working height Boss X3 compact push-around scissor lifts, Youngman Group has introduced the X2 and X3X models, offering working heights of 4.01 and 5.2m respectively. Also new is an auto-braking system on all models to prevent the machines from being moved unless the platform is in the fully retracted position. In addition, the

manufacturer has developed an optional Confined Space Guardrail for the full Boss X Series line-up, which allows safe access into restricted spaces such as the void above suspended ceiling frameworks. Also available are lightweight ‘bumpers’, which fit into a machine’s forklift pockets and minimise impact and scuffing damage to doors and walls.

Within its traditional

aluminium tower line-up, Youngman recently introduced the Boss Cam-Lock advance guardrail. This replaces the traditional horizontal and diagonal bracing in Clima and Ladderspan towers using 1.5m-high side guardrail frames, which are locked into place using special mechanisms before the user ascends the platform. Besides requiring fewer components, this system increases tower rigidity.

Uplifting Euro Towers machine

The new Eurolift Mini 45 from Euro Towers is a push-around compact scissor lift offering a maximum platform height of 2.5m, and a 4.5m working height. An automatic braking system activates when the machine is in the elevated position, and the safe working load capacity is 150kg. Detachable guardrails are incorporated and an integral toeboard forms part of the entrance gate opening, which is designed to give a low entry point. The main components of the Eurolift, which was officially launched at the Executive Hire Show, are housed within a pullout tray to facilitate maintenance, and the battery is claimed to provide up to 250 raising and lowering cycles. Ergonomically designed controls are provided at ground level and in the platform, and non-marking wheels are incorporated. The machine, which weighs 290kg, measures 1.2m by 0.7m and has a closed height of 1.7m (or 0.7m minus the guardrail), enabling it to go through a standard doorway and into a passenger lift. A handy toolbox is incorporated into the work platform.

Powerlift UK makes tracks

Powerlift UK has just introduced the PIAF 810 tracked mast boom to the ATN machine range it offers. The two-man lift can reach heights of up to 8.1m with an outreach of 3m, and having a footprint of

1.8m and turret rotation of a non-continuous 220° it can fit into confined spaces. A low centre of gravity enables the machine to traverse 30% slopes, and rubber tracks give stability on uneven terrain. The multi-telescopic mast boom and articulated jib are controlled by live hydraulics in the basket, giving operators flexibility for precise placement. The ATN range also includes the PIAF 880R and 1000R

models, which give 8.8m and 10m working heights respectively, and both are driven by non-marking rubber tyres. Another machine available is the Zebra 12, a rough terrain 4x4 articulated boom, giving a maximum 12.2m working height and 8.5m horizontal outreach.
