The focus of DCS Protect is to provide a front-line, cost efficient claim handling service for surveyors with the support of external representatives only when necessary. The Division handles run-off claim administration for various insurers with delegated authority and understands the balance required between consumer satisfaction, surveyor’s professional reputation and successful outcome for insurers.


DCS Protect is experienced in dispute resolution including mediation and Ombudsman Schemes.


Insurers can be certain the team is very efficient and cost aware. The aim of DCS Protect is to offer excellence in claim handling for regulated members of the RICS and insurers and hopefully other specialist professions in due course.


▪ Lockton Profin Claims ▪


DCS were retained by Lockton with effect from May 1st 2009 to supply outsourced claims services for the Lockton ‘ProFin’ division. This entails the centralising of Lockton’s London, Bristol & Edinburgh claims departments in this specialist area under one roof at DCS’ headquarters in the City of London.


This service is underpinned by a ‘Claims Advocacy’ model within Lockton, strategically resourced to handle high-volume, complex and sensitive claims for Lockton clients whilst DCS provide the day-to-day claims support infrastructure resourced by Professions claims specialists.


▪ DCS Consultancy ▪ DCS Consultancy provides advice to both Insurers and Insured’s on liability and to Insurers on policy response. A full defence service is provided including the preparation of Protocol Response letters and attending mediations.


DCS Consultancy is managed by Gordon Walker, a solicitor of 25 years experience, for 13 years of which he has been based in the London Market. Gordon has dealt with the defence of cases across the full range of professional indemnity claims throughout his career, including those in the Financial, Legal, Surveying and Constructions sectors.


DCS Consultancy can also provide a bespoke non-contentious policy advice service to underwriters and claims personnel alike, dealing with both specific issues to general reviews.


In particular DCS Consultancy aims to provide assistance to Insurers, in claims up to £100,000, where the costs of traditional law firms may not be justified or economic. DCS Consultancy aim to settle claims early and cost efficiently and, where possible, to avoid the effects of Claimant CFA’s.


DCS Consultancy is able to pass on to their clients the advantage of cost savings not available to traditional law firms.
