TRADE SHOWS
Plan for trade
show success
With several trade shows for PAs coming up it’s a wise idea to start
planning your visit now to ensure you get the most out of the show
All year round and throughout the globe, trade shows
are playing an important role in business development.
Regardless of product quality, sales and marketing abili-
ty or general professional experience, a company’s suc-
cess at these events often rests on good planning, prepa-
ration and back up. This is where you, as the company’s
highly efficient PA, play such an important role.
Plan your time
Attend to your travel arrangements early to fix any prob-
lems before they become critical. You can often secure a
better rate by booking in advance – don’t just assume
you’ll get the best rate if you leave it until the last minute.
Prioritise your planned activities. You should have a
checklist to ensure you get the most out of the event,
including the relevant exhibitors, networking opportuni-
ties, and other activity items. Spend time on the
tradeshow’s website where you should be able to find out
information about the events taking place to judge how
relevant they will be to you.
Work with the team leader (and, of course, this could be
you!) to organise a final meeting to confirm details and to Make sure that the office has a copy of the itinerary and
