EXECUTIVE PA
MAGAZINE
AWARDS 2010
One of the key parts of any PA’s role is that of organising events – and if there’s one
person who knows how to make sure each and every event sparkles it’s Susanna
Tackie, winner of the Executive PA Magazine Best Organised Event 2009
Six months ago hundreds of the nation’s top PAs
gathered at the Royal Garden Hotel as we revealed the
winners of our 2009 awards. For Susanna Tackie it was
certainly a night of celebration as she won one of our
awards and a two night stay at the Royal Garden Hotel as
part of her prize. “Looking back I still can’t believe that I
was the winner of the Best Organised Event award”
explains Susanna. “However, event management, organ-
isation and coordination have always been my passion
and still are. It’s just a wonderful feeling and an honour
to have been chosen as the winner for that category.”
The award was a great testament to Susanna’s expert
abilities, particularly when it comes to organising a fantastic
event and, she acknowledges, has also given her a bit of a
reputation as an events whizz in the office: “It was extreme-
ly rewarding to receive such recognition. As well as that my
colleagues and senior management acknowledged my hard
work and have confirmed to me that my reward was well
deserved”. Susanna continues: “The award has certainly
enhanced my career. I now receive numerous requests from
my colleagues and peers on issues related to events; from
venue finding to entertainment. I get more recognised for
my expert knowledge in the area relating to events.”
Susanna is encouraging PAs to enter the 2010 awards
and says winning once is enough for her so the competi-
tion is on to find someone who can throw a party to rival even if you have started another.”
