The Land Registry House Price Index report for November 2009 shows
that the annual rate of decline has eased, once again, with the figure now

standing at a relatively flat -0.3 per cent. Monthly change is positive, at

0.9 per cent. This movement has affected the average property price in
England and Wales, which is now £161,554.

Wales is the region with the greatest monthly change, which is -6
currently at 2.9 per cent. The West Midlands was the only region to

experience a negative monthly change in house prices with a figure of -
0.4 per cent. In November, four regions in England and Wales

experienced positive annual changes: London, The East, The South East 0
and The South West. Of these, London had the strongest growth at 3.5

The average number of property transactions has increased over the

last year. In June to September 2009 sales volumes averaged 55,520 per 3.8
month, while in the same period last year, they averaged 50,187.
