Justi n Hawkins to Headline Moonfest
Making the most spectacular entrance of his career, precisely what that is
is a closely guarded secret unti l it actually happens; Justi n Hawkins front
man from the Darkness is headling Moonfest in Westbury on 30th August
with his band HotLeg.
Many will remember the events of last year when the Police successfully
won a dramati c court case to have Moonfest’s licence removed claiming
that Pete Doherty’s appearance with his band Babyshambles could
incite public disorder. This acti on caused huge tremors throughout the
music industry and was even discussed in the House of Commons. Roger
Daultrey front man with The Who together with Pete Doherty on hearing
about Moonfest’s plight played a free gig at Bristol’s 02 Arena raising the last few thousand
pounds needed to pay back all the ti cket holders.
This year the Police are fully on side having been in discussions with the Moonfest organisers
since January. Moonfest was granted its licence in June and with the blistering weather
predicted by the met offi ce for August, Moonfest 2009 promises to be one of the best one day
music festi vals in the UK.
With almost 40 acts from around the UK performing on two stages, helicopter displays from
world champion Dennis Kenyon, fun fair rides for the kids plus loads of other att racti ons,
Moonfest is a must for all the family. At only £20 for adults, £10 for under sixteen’s with under
thirteen’s being free, it’s really good value too. Check it out at www.moonfest.co.uk
