Fairy Tales Replaced with Gentler Narratives
living to children.
Controversy is cooking as some parents find classic fairy tales too
dark for storytelling to little ones. The Telegraph reports that a poll — Elain Heffner
of 3,000 British parents showed that a quarter of the mothers reject
some of the classic tales today, even if they grew up reading them.
Cited concerns in the UK about their being un-PC are joined by
questions in the United States about their perpetuation of gender
and beauty myths.
