Patterned paper, ribbon: American Crafts; Staples: Office supply; hole punch: fiskars


1. Cut (6) 10” square pieces of patterned paper.
2. fold one piece of paper in half diagonally and crease the folded edge.
3. fold the paper in half again, but don’t crease the folded edge.
4. Measure one of the folded edges and divide that number by four. here the edge is 7” long, so 7/4 = 1 ¾. On
both of the folded edges, make a mark at every 1 ¾”. Draw a line to connect the coordinating marks. You should
have three angled lines evenly spaced.
5. Starting at one edge, cut the lines almost to the other edge, so leave about ¼” uncut.
6. Unfold the paper so it’s a diamond shape (turned 90º).
7. roll the first two innermost papers together and adhere.
8. turn the diamond over and roll the next two innermost papers together and adhere.
9. Keep flipping the diamond over and adhering the next papers together until all the papers have been joined.
10. repeat steps 2-9 for the other 5 squares.
11. Staple three of the completed papers together at one edge. Staple the other three completed papers together at
one edge.
12. Staple the two pieces of three together in the middle.
13. Staple where each of the arms meet.
14. Choose one of the points, punch a hole in the top and thread ribbon through to hang.
